A driver had to be rescued after a two-vehicle crash in Nassau County Wednesday afternoon.

The Long Beach Fire Department received a report around 12:30 p.m. for the collision at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and East Park Avenue.

Once on scene, a member alerted that one occupant was trapped, and an extrication would be required, fire officials say.

Fire crews from Engine 2343 used the Jaws of Life to pop open the driver’s door and safely remove them from the vehicle.

The individual was taken by ambulance to Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in stable condition.

No other injuries were reported.
