        Driver dies in Thomaston crash

        Police said a driver has died, following a crash on Route 8 in Thomaston.

        A fiery crash in Thomaston left a driver dead, according to state police.
        They say the driver of a black Dodge Ram pickup was traveling southbound on Route 8, approximately 1 mile from Exit 38, when the vehicle left its lane of travel and crashed into the wire rope railing on the median.
        The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when authorities arrived. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
        The Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating the accident.
