A driver in Greenburgh escaped injury after his car went up in flames on the Sprain Brook Parkway.
The fire happened Monday on the northbound side and caused a major backup.
Two lanes were shut down as first responders worked to put out the flames. The driver said his car began stalling before he opened the hood and saw flames.
“I was driving, my car started stalling, and I opened the hood, I seen flames in my trunk, in my engine, I jumped out of the car. Now it's totaled,” he said. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
