The weather will improve heading into Friday morning. We finally have some weather we can cheer about and it's on the Summer Solstice. Winds will change direction and turn westerly. They will usher in drier air and bring the humidity level down a couple of notches for Friday.
Don't get too used to this nicer weather, though. A heat wave may come our way early next week. This time around, temperatures will be hotter and stay longer.
There is a risk of some showers early Saturday and also very late in the day. We have to watch to see if these showers hold together long enough to make it through Connecticut. The daytime will be hot, with sunshine and temperatures in the 80s.
Sunday will feature more heat and higher humidity. There is also a slight risk of some showers or storms early in the day. Even though this weekend may not be 100% dry, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors with over 15 hours of daylight.
The excessive heat returns next week. Temperatures will hit the 90s, but the heat index could approach 100+ degrees through Tuesday.
