There is a traffic backup on the Meadowbrook State Parkway due to failure of the Jones Bay Bridge.

State police say the Meadowbrook State Parkway northbound is closed at the drawbridge. Traffic is being diverted from the Ocean State Parkway westbound to Ocean State Parkway eastbound at the last U-turn right before the bend starts to head up the Meadowbrook.

Bay parkway traffic is closed at the Meadowbrook northbound ramp and being sent eastbound on either side of the parkway or the Ocean State Parkway eastbound, according to police.

A scheduled time of when the issue will be resolved was not immediately available.
