1h agoDozens of people were without power Tuesday morning after a semi-truck took down eight utility poles in Manhattan Beach.
A huge stretch of Oriental Boulevard is still shut down as crews work to restore power. Con Edison says that should happen at some point this morning. This all started around 10:30 a.m. Monday when an 18-wheeler came barreling down the road sparing no pole in its path.
Surveillance video shows power poles snapping and sparking causing extensive damage. The crash also caused an oil spill on the street and 382 homes were without power. Con Edison says most of the power in the area has been restored with eight new power poles and three transformers.
Police say the driver sped off and is still on the loose.
