The state Department of Corrections says Daniel St. Hubert, 37, died at the Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville last month.

A jury convicted St. Hubert of murder and other charges for stabbing two young children inside an elevator at the Boulevard Houses in 2014.

PJ Avitto, 6 at the time, died from his injuries.

Mikayla Capers, 7 at the time, survived and testified at Hubert’s trial.
