A Dix Hills man pleaded guilty to a wrong-way pile-up crash in Deer Park in 2025.

Miandad Khan was accused of driving while impaired by marijuana leading to a multivehicle collision in May, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

The 38-year-old struck was driving northbound on Deer Park Avenue when he struck another vehicle near the intersection of Jacqueline Way, according to court documents. Khan then floored his vehicle across the landscape center median into the opposite lane of traffic in an attempt to flee.

In doing so, he struck a SUV with two teenagers inside causing them to spin out. The Suffolk District Attorney's Office says that Khan then continued driving northbound through the intersection of Grand Boulevard when he crashed head on into another SUV occupied by a couple in their 70s.

“This defendant not only drove while impaired and hit another vehicle, but he then tried to flee the scene by speeding into oncoming traffic — causing a second collision and then a third, leaving behind multiple injured victims and wrecked vehicles,” said District Attorney Ray Tierney. “The guilty plea secured by my office ensures he is held accountable for his blatant disregard for other people's safety.”

Khan is due back in court on October 30, 2026 and is expected to be sentenced to two to six years in prison.
