Strong Island Animal Rescue says they saved a mother deer on Thursday that was stuck in a hard place.

Rescuers got a call from a Smithtown homeowner who noticed two baby deer idling near their fence.

When rescuers arrived, they found the mother deer entrapped, with her two babies looking on.

They had to disassemble the fence while it was snowing to get to the mother deer, which was eventually freed and reunited with her babies.
