Officials in Oceanport rescued a deer that fell through the ice in Pleasure Bay, authorities said.

Oceanport police responded to the area off Pocano Avenue and requested assistance from the fire department for an ice rescue operation. The deer was located about 150 feet from shore, police said.

Oceanport firefighters, with help from other departments, entered the icy water and rescued the animal. The Monmouth County SPCA examined the deer and determined it was healthy enough to be released, according to officials.
