A person was found dead at the Plumb Beach parking lot in Sheepshead Bay, police say.

Officers responded to an area off the Belt Parkway just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say they located the person unconscious and unresponsive. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators identified the person as female but did not provide her approximate age.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine her cause and manner of death.

Her identity has not been released as of Wednesday evening.
