Looking to connect with nature this winter without having to go outdoors?
The Geary Gallery in Darien is featuring the works of Fairfield artist Wendy Petta-Goldman for its February art exhibit entitled "Mindful Nature."
Her mixed-media paintings include nature, animals and landscapes.
Petta-Goldman says her work is inspired by her backyard.
"I have had so much inspiration fom living on our farm in Fairfield. It's beautiful and we have animals, and they're always really looking at you so curiously. And so I always try to capture that in a lot of the paintings that I did," she says.
The exhibition runs through the end of month and is open to all.
The gallery is located at 576 Post Road and is open Wednesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is free.
