From Schitt’s Creek to Hackettstown, Emmy-winning actor Dan Levy and Netflix recently transformed a livestock auction market into a television set.
Scenes from the new Netflix series Big Mistakes were filmed at the Hackettstown Livestock Auction on West Stiger Street in September 2025, according to town officials, who announced the news on Facebook.
“Hackettstown on Netflix — And Now We Can Show You,” the post said. Officials said they had to wait until the series debuted this week before revealing that some of the scenes were shot at the auction.
Big Mistakes stars Levy, Taylor Ortega, Elizabeth Perkins and Laurie Metcalf.
“The series follows siblings Nicky (Levy) and Morgan (Ortega), who get pulled into organized crime after a well-meaning plan to help their grandmother spirals completely out of control,” Hackettstown officials said on social media. “Expect chaos, bad decisions, and somehow, failing upward.”
Described by Netflix as a family crime comedy, Big Mistakes has eight episodes and is now streaming.
