Crossroads Deli and Catering, nestled at 616 Route 6 in Mahopac, went dark for months after owners Denise and James Russell came face to face with life's unpredictable nature.
The mom-and-pop shop has been a staple in the community since 2011.
Last December, a two-car accident caused one of the vehicles to strike the storefront, causing extensive damage. Between closing down and losing business during the holiday season, the deli's future was uncertain.
For people who call Mahopac home, the deli's story was not over yet.
Since Wednesday, the community that they've nourished for years has been coming out in full force to show their support.
"We did over 400 covers [Wednesday], it was incredible. We went through 180 pounds of chicken. I mean, the love that this community, and how they helped us and supported us through this four-month period of rebuilding," said Denise Russell.
Crossroads Deli & Catering is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
