Investigators say a member of a construction crew was injured while working on the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge.
According to a preliminary investigation by the MTA Police Department, a heavy steel repair plate fell on the worker's leg around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Citizen app footage shows the large emergency response that shut down all northbound lanes of the bridge for approximately half an hour.
The worker is a contractor with American Bridge who was working under the roadway at the time of the incident, according to MTAPD.
MTAPD Emergency Services Unit and FDNY crews rescued the wounded worker just before 10:50 a.m.
The MTA says the worker suffered a knee injury. Paramedics took the worker to Harlem Hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.
All northbound lanes have since reopened.
MTA Police say they are investigating the incident.
