News 12 met with Council member Eric Dinowitz, who is running for City Council’s District 11 seat. He has held the role for the past four years and plans to continue for another four.
When asked what he is proud of from his time in office, he said, “We have closed thousands of constituent cases and that's people coming in with everything from wanting to install new stop signs in the neighborhood, which we've done. People needing to keep the heat on in their apartments, which we've done, people staying in their homes, preventing evictions.”
Dinowitz said he wants to focus on children, older adults, working families and people with disabilities.
He is proud of the tens of millions of dollars he has secured for the community and plans to continue to invest in the wellbeing of his constituents.
“I'm passing legislation and implementing policy to make life more affordable and to improve our quality of life,” Dinowitz said.
When asked why people should vote for him instead of his opponent, he said, “I'm the kind of guy who gets things done. Whenever I see a problem, I get right to it. That's why we've closed thousands of constituent cases. That's why we have passed legislation to address the very needs of people in District 11.”
Dinowitz is running against Danielle-Herbert Guggenheim for the 11th District seat. Early voting begins on June 14 and the primary is June 24.
News 12 requested sit downs with all the top-funded candidates in the council race.
