A Norwalk woman is proving that age is just a number.
Mary Coroneos recently turned 100 years old, and she credits her long life to staying fit.
Coroneos says she works out with a trainer three times a week at the Edge Norwalk, where she's been a valued member since 2008.
"I’m feeling so appreciative because I have my mom," daughter Athena Coroneos says. "She's been an example of a good mother and a great provider and a great supporter."
Mary grew up playing basketball and volleyball, and then went on to teach for over 50 years.
State Sen. Bob Duff presented Coroneos with a proclamation Wednesday.
Her family says it’s a celebration of vitality and living.
"I couldn’t be happier," her daughter says. "I’m very privileged to have her in my life."
