A Coram firefighter battling testicular cancer is partnering with the New York Blood Center to host a blood drive on Wednesday.

Spencer Capotosto, who is also an EMT and emergency dispatcher, also was diagnosed with a ruptured kidney artery on Thanksgiving.

He was able to leave the hospital because of blood transfusions.

Capotosto is hoping to help other people other with the event, which will take place at the Coram Fire Department from 1:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.
