The Christopher Columbus statue removed from Bridgeport's Seaside Park in 2020 is set to make a comeback.

The statue is expected to return by October, following a restoration funded by the local Italian American community.

While supporters argue the monument represents culture and was never legally gifted to the city, activists led by Jorge Cruz pledge protests against the reinstallation, citing the explorer's legacy of exploitation.
