The Connecticut Department of Agriculture has awarded 43 farms across the state a total of $510,000 through its Farm Transition Grant Program.

The program helps farmers grow and adapt their operations. Officials say 123 farms apply for grants this year.

The Lamont administration says they have awarded more than $3.87 million through the program since 2019.
