A bill addressing dangerous street takeovers in Connecticut has been revised to reduce penalties, according to state officials.

The original proposal allowed for permanent driver's license revocation for those involved.

Republicans deemed this too severe, leading to changing it to a two-year license suspension.

The updated bill also grants drivers more time to reclaim their vehicles before destruction.
