Congressman Mike Lawler is officially launching his re-election campaign, holding a kickoff event today in Nanuet as he looks to defend one of the Hudson Valley’s most competitive congressional seats.
Supporters are expected to pack the event, with over 300 people anticipated to attend. The campaign is aiming to generate early momentum ahead of what is expected to be a closely watched race.
Among those scheduled to speak are Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, alongside Lawler.
Lawler previously announced he would seek re-election in 2026 rather than pursue a run for governor, setting the stage for another high-stakes contest in New York’s 17th Congressional District.
“I think it’s gonna be a big event for Mike. You’ll see the energy in the campaign this year. Expecting a pretty packed room,” said campaign manager Ciro Riccardi. “The congressman doesn’t stop—he’s attended thousands of events over the last three years.”
Lawler’s Hudson Valley district is expected to be one of the most closely watched House races in the country next year.
