A man accused of killing a Norwalk sixth grader nearly 40 years ago returned to Stamford Superior Court Tuesday for the first time since a judge declared a mistrial in April.
Marc Karun is charged in the 1986 killing of Kathy Flynn, who was attacked while walking home from school.
The case remained unsolved for decades before advances in DNA technology led to Karun's arrest.
Karun's trial began last spring.
The case ended in a mistrial after allegations of possible evidence contamination.
Prosecutors have said they intend to retry Karun in Flynn's death.
Flynn was killed in 1986 while walking home from school in Norwalk.
