Rising six stories high in the heart of Cobble Hill, a new residential development at Boerum Place is set to introduce 21 red-brick, boutique-style units to the borough, marking a first-of-its-kind project for the neighborhood.
Thoughtfully designed and deeply influenced by the area’s natural elements and architectural character, the building aims to feel unmistakably at home in its surroundings.
Designed by Brent Buck Architects, the project draws inspiration directly from the fabric of Cobble Hill itself. The red-brick façade pays homage to the neighborhood’s historic streetscapes while maintaining a modern sensibility.
“Cobble Hill is a wonderful neighborhood; there’s a real sense of community here,” said Brent Buck, architect and founder of Brent Buck Architects. “So, the building is clad in red brick. We wanted to make sure this building didn’t feel foreign to that.”
Inside, residents will have access to more than 11,000 square feet of sun-drenched amenities. These include a fully equipped fitness space, a spa, and a vibrant courtyard reading lounge designed to offer moments of calm and connection amid city life.
Natural light plays a central role throughout the building’s design, shaping both the shared spaces and private residences.
“Our overarching goal with all the architecture that we do is to bring natural light into spaces, hopefully in surprising ways,” Buck explained. “That is an uplifting way to live in an apartment.”
Among the building’s standout residences is a unit featuring a dramatic spiral staircase that leads directly to a private rooftop, offering views of the Manhattan skyline. Each apartment has been uniquely designed to reflect the distinct qualities of its position within the building.
“Each site has an individual characteristic that you’re thinking about and playing with as you’re making designs,” Buck said, “to allow each apartment to have different characters and attributes.”
One of the project’s most distinctive features is its emphasis on indoor-outdoor living. Every unit includes its own private outdoor space, an uncommon luxury in urban residential design.
“One of the big ideas for the project was to open the interiors to outdoor spaces,” Buck noted. “To allow the owner and the occupants of this building to engage with both the interior and exterior at the same time.”
Developers say Boerum Place is scheduled to open its doors in the later half of 2026, offering a refined, light-filled living experience that blends seamlessly into one of Brooklyn’s most beloved neighborhoods.
