- WATCHING THE TROPICS: There are three named storms and two areas of interest in the Atlantic basin. Tropical Storm Kirk, Tropical Depression Joyce and PTC Isaac currently poses no threat to land and will remain a fish storm. The other two tropical disturbances have a medium to high chance of development in the next 7 days. One of the tropical waves brewing in the Gulf of Mexico needs to be monitored closely for further development late this week. Stay tuned for updates.
