Some unconventional August weather patterns are shaping up for this week. For one, we aren't tracking any significant or summer-like storm pattern. There could be a few hiccups here and there (Maybe Thursday night - a passing shower) but other than that, it’s quiet. Mainly sunny and seasonable. Temps in the low to mid-80s
So what makes the forecast noteworthy this week? Very little humidity. It's pleasant. Atmospheric moisture isn't going to be weighing us down. Just sunny and pleasant.
For curious skygazers tonight - there is a slight chance, and I mean slight - that the Northern Lights might be seen in the area again. It will likely not be seen with the naked eye, but if you have patience and use night mode on your phone's camera, it is possible you might catch a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis.
Also of note, the Perseid meteor showers are peaking tonight. Skies will be clear, so with a little patience and a dark sky, look up and wish upon a shooting star.
TONIGHT: Some clouds in the evening, followed by clear skies overnight. Lows dip to around 64.
TUESDAY: Mainly sunny with some afternoon clouds. Daytime highs around 82. Overnight lows around 68.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny with some clouds. Daytime highs in the mid-80s. Overnight lows around 69.
THURSDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs around 86 degrees. Some rain possible overnight with lows in the upper-60s..
