A leadership change is coming to the Clarkstown Police Department as its longtime chief prepares to retire later this month.
The town board is scheduled to officially accept the retirement of Police Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker during its meeting this afternoon.
His retirement will take effect on April 26.
Wanamaker has served with the department since 1987.
The town board is also expected to appoint James Fay as the new police chief at the same meeting.
The police department said Fay has been with the agency for more than 30 years.
