A routine workday Wednesday morning suddenly turned into a frightening ordeal for staff at the Citgo gas station in Pine Bush Wednesday when the business was robbed at gunpoint.
The clerk tells News 12 that the suspect flashed a gun, demanded cash and took off with about $600 from the register.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. inside the gas station’s food mart on Hill Avenue, which police confirm.
Staff say the armed suspect wore a hat and sunglasses and was wearing a hooded shirt, and that they didn’t recognize him as a customer.
“This is my third robbery. {My coworker} had a rough time with it, so we had to send her home,” says a gas station employee who asked not to be identified.
Staff say the gas station was robbed twice last year.
Crawford police say the latest incident is under investigation.
