A circus performer was injured during a show at the Orange County Fair when an arrow struck him during an archery act, state police said.
It happened at the fairgrounds at 239 Wisner Ave. in Wallkill around 9:30 p.m on Friday.
The New York State Police said that Ana B. Daza Tavera, 42, and Edwin A. Cuervo Rangel, 38, both of Wisconsin, were performing for spectators when Daza Tavera fired an arrow at a foam target held by Cuervo Rangel.
The arrow struck Cuervo Rangel, causing injuries. He was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, where he is expected to recover.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
