Spring has been springing up around New Jersey. Temperatures have been wonderfully warm. Daytime highs even rose into the upper 70s to around 80 degrees in a few neighborhoods.
The warmth will continue into tonight. A blanket of clouds tucks us in through the overnight hours. Nighttime lows will be warmer than where typical afternoon highs would ultimately land. Look for lows tonight to be in the upper 50s and low 60s.
Wednesday's warm-up could be near record-breaking. This would depend on how long the sun can stave off the eventual overcast intrusion. If it's sunnier longer, well then, I think we have a real shot at seeing numerous record highs being broken.
Wednesday night becomes a bit tumultuous. An organized cluster of storms will lumber across the state. Thunder and lightning are possible. While I don't think any one storm will become severe, it's possible a few storms could overachieve and produce gusty wind-driven rains.
The rain will be gone by Thursday morning. The winds will have changed directions and the temperatures will now begin to drop. Afternoon highs will likely be a few degrees shy of their seasonable norms. (57 degrees is average.) I can see a bunch of towns and municipalities struggling to get back to 50 degrees.
