A charge against a Monsey man connected to a rogue fire department in Rockland County could be dismissed if he complies with court-ordered conditions.
Jacob Silberstein, 26, was arrested last November after authorities said he interfered with fire personnel during a fire in the Village of Kaser.
Authorities accuse him of being part of Matzelei Aish, a non-certified fire group.
He was initially charged with obstructing firefighting operations and reckless endangerment. The obstruction charge was dropped earlier this year.
The case was postponed last week in Ramapo Town Court and is now scheduled to return in January.
The Rockland District Attorney's Office says the remaining charge will be dismissed if Silberstein meets the court's conditions.
Officials have criticized the fire department, saying it lacks proper training.
