The Capital Theatre in Port Chester celebrated an extraordinary milestone this weekend.

The iconic venue hosted a centennial celebration on Saturday and honored all the artists who performed on its legendary stage.

The theatre turned 100 years old on Aug. 18. Musicians who have played at the venue include The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin.

Prior to the celebration, Mayor Luis A. Marino presented the staff with a special proclamation, proclaiming Sept. 19 as Capitol Theater Day.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins also presented a special proclamation that honored the anniversary and the theatre's impact on the county.

The celebration featured multiple performances, a confetti cannon and a balloon drop.
