Wednesday was a very special day for a Darien woman.

Matilda Morey turned 105.

A birthday celebration was held at the Atria Senior Living with cake, happy hour and a musical performance.

Morey was born in Turin, Italy and moved to San Francisco when she was 9 years old.

She worked as an insurance underwriter and raised three children. She also has five grandchildren.

Morey later moved to Port Chester, NY to be closer to her family.
