Ashpia Natasha was driving on the Belt Parkway and says she encountered a potential car insurance scam when another vehicle cut her off and reversed into her car.
The shocking incident was recorded by her dash cam.
After the video went viral on TikTok, she received messages from others who reported similar scams, indicating this may be a growing issue.
The National Insurance Crime Bureau warns that scammers often target women and seniors driving alone in affluent areas.
Thanks to the video evidence, her insurance will cover over $8,000 in damages, underscoring the importance of being prepared on the road.
"I feel like they would have gotten away with it, you know because at the end of the day, my car was behind theirs and there was a collision, so I wouldn't have been able to prove that it was actually them who reversed into me," said Natasha.
