New York Junior Tennis & Learning is the largest youth tennis and education nonprofit in the country.
Its flagship facility is the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in Crotona Park. The center is celebrating its 10th year of its opening.
The facility has 20 tennis courts and two stadium courts. There are both commercial and free community programs for people of all ages. The center also serves as a community hub.
"Our philosophy is that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. And we feel that in communities like the Bronx, especially the South Bronx, there's tremendous talent, but there's just not as many opportunities for it to be showcased and get highlighted and celebrated. And the Cary Lee Center helps do that," said Udai Tambar, CEO and president of New York Junior Tennis & Learning.
Tambar tells News 12 they hire from the community and serve the community. They aim to build strong relationships and help young students grow.
