A driver was rescued early Tuesday morning after crashing a car into a building on Vincellette Street in Bridgeport, officials said.

Bridgeport firefighters were dispatched to the 400 block of Vincellette Street around 1:45 a.m. and worked to extract the driver from the vehicle.

Officials say the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

City officials also say the extent of the damage to the building remains unknown as crews continue to assess the scene.

No additional information about the driver’s condition was immediately released.
