A car went into Lake Carmel and ended up partially submerged Sunday.

Firefighters responded to West Lakeshore Drive after reports of a vehicle in the water.

The driver made it out safely before first responders arrived, crews said.

Firefighters later removed the vehicle from the lake.

There is no word on what caused the car to enter the water.
