A driver went over the edge of the parking lot at a marina in Port Jefferson, nearly landing in the Long Island Sound.

Police say she accidentally drove her car over a bulkhead and landed on a floating dock.

News 12 is told this happened shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday night.

Police say the driver accelerated too hard, causing the car to go through the divider.

The driver was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Port Jefferson Fire Department posted pictures of the accident to its Facebook page, writing that a heavy-duty tow truck must come and remove the vehicle.

Police say no one else was hurt during the crash.

Crews are going to have to get to work to fix the dock and the divider that was supposed to prevent something like this from happening.
