The jaws of life were used to extricate a driver from his car after his SUV crashed into an East Haven restaurant.
The driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say it happened just before 5:30am on Friday morning at the Hot Roostah restaurant on Foxon Road.
They say the driver had just finished an overnight shift and fell asleep behind the wheel before the crash.
The restaurant has been temporarily closed due to structural safety concerns.
