10:15 A.M. UPDATE: News 12 was informed that Yosemite Lane was plowed just before 10 a.m. Original story is below.
Brookhaven residents say they're furious after waking up to roads still covered in substantial snow.
News 12 has received calls from people living on Yosemite Lane in Coram, Arrow Street in Selden, Edgar Avenue in Brookhaven, Piedmont Drive in Port Jefferson, Newman Street in Patchogue, Stephani Avenue in East Patchogue and Cornwallis Road in East Setauket.
Viewers said it has made it impossible to get to work and created dangerous situations for first responders and essential workers.
In one instance, an ambulance got stuck off a residential, unplowed road in Coram, Suffolk County fire officials confirmed.
Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro joined the News 12 morning show live and was asked about unplowed roads.
He said a plow passed over every road in town at least once.
"If there are any spots that truly have not been plowed and there's a big difference between not plowed and needs more plowing," he said. "Its not going to improve response time to tell us that the road wasn't plowed if it just needs more plowing. Tell us 'we're still six feet from the curb line, can you come back and widen the road?'"
Town officials said they're back out today to continue clearing out spots that need it.
