In New York City, if the temperature outside is below 55 degrees, your landlord should set your heat to 68 degrees from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. It's also important to not only be prepared when you're leaving the house and layering up, but if you're experiencing symptoms of hypothermia, get to the hospital immediately.
