As Jaÿ-Z prepares to celebrate the 30th anniversary of "Reasonable Doubt" and the 25th anniversary of "The Blueprint" with concerts at Yankee Stadium this weekend, one Bronx music producer is reflecting on the hip-hop icon's lasting impact.
Multi-platinum producer and musical director Amadeus says getting the opportunity to work with Jaÿ-Z during the "Blueprint 3 Tour" with Trey Songz was a career-defining experience.
"We learned so much from him, from the artistic standpoint to how he creates the setlist, how he controls the crowd, how he rocks with his band. So it was definitely a moment for us to take in and celebrate," said Amadeus.
Growing up in the Bronx, Amadeus says Jaÿ-Z inspired generations of New Yorkers and showed what was possible through hard work and determination.
He also says the anniversary concerts are more than just performances - they're a celebration of hip-hop, New York City and an artist whose influence continues three decades later.
Amadeus is also featured on a mural outside Commonpoint in the Bronx honoring figures from the borough who have made positive contributions to hip-hop and the community.
"To be on a wall for something positive, especially my contributions to music and hip-hop in the community, is an extreme blessing," said Amadeus.
