The Bronx District Attorney’s Office announced the indictment of a Bronx man for killing his roommate.
Enoch Rosado, 67, is accused of beating 35-year-old Miguel Batiz to death using a heavy tool.
Court documents reveal that Rosado called 911 in the early morning on Oct. 22, claiming he got into a fight with his roommate.
Officers discovered Batiz inside an apartment at the NYCHA Edenwald Houses with injuries throughout his body.
EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
"This defendant allegedly resorted to a shocking act of violence to settle an ongoing dispute. He allegedly struck his roommate multiple times, killing him,” stated District Attorney Darcel Clark.
Police previously told News 12 that Batiz was stabbed to death, but further investigation revealed he did not suffer stab wounds.
Rosado is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. He is due back in court on Feb. 18.
