NOW: News12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Michele Powers says to expect a few light sprinkles to pop up late and into Wednesday. Grab the umbrellas because showers are likely in the evening. Temperatures Wednesday will stay cool, with highs in the 60s to near-70 degrees again, with the winds coming onshore.
WHAT'S NEXT: Thursday temperatures will warm up. Highs will return to the middle 70s for a time, but the rain also makes a comeback, too. Out ahead of a cold front, there will be scattered showers and even some thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. The rain could be a bit more widespread in the evening. Plan accordingly if you will be out Thursday night. The weather quickly improves for Friday through the weekend. Friday looks warm, but the weekend looks seasonable with temperatures in the lower 70s. More rain possible by the middle of next week.
POLLEN: Pollen levels are at a low to medium level over the next few days. Top allergens still are ragweed, sagebrush and grasses.
TROPICS: Tropical Storm Helene develops in the northern Caribbean Sea. Winds have increased to 50 mph with higher gusts. This storm is expected to strengthen even more as it enters the Gulf of Mexico tomorrow and approaches Florida. The storm could strengthen to a Catergory 3 before making landfall along Florida's Big Bend coast late Thursday. This storm is of no threat to the East Coast. The rain will get suppressed to the south again and our local area will stay dry.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with late sprinkles. Cool. Low of 57.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy, spot showers early then more in the evening. High of 68.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy, risk of showers in the afternoon and evening. A few thunderstorms are possible. High of 74.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. High of 75.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. High of 72.
        SUNDAY: Sunny. High of 73.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. High of 72.
TUESDAY: Partly cloudy. High of 70.
