        FORECAST:
Dangerous cold settles in this morning with the thermometer reading the single digits. The frigidness continues all day with a mostly sunny sky. There won't be a sharp wind chill today due to the fact that the wind is calm. Although this helps, cold is still cold and it requires appropriate attire and attention today. Highs reach near 30 in NE NJ, but it remains in the upper 20s elsewhere.
Clouds build tonight ahead of a quick hitting snow shower for Tuesday morning. The light snow will be fine and powdery in most of New Jersey with the exception of Ocean County where it will be wetter and melty. The snow passes quickly between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. from NW to the coast. It will make for slippery conditions early. Ocean County's forecast varies slightly. From Forked River/Lacey south there will be melty snow with some freezing rain that may leave for a thin layer of ice on untreated surfaces. This will be slippery for the duration of the weather system. A total of about 1" or less will fall in most spots with 1-2" for Sussex County. This is also the case south of I-195 (Exit 7A on the NJ Turnpike).
There is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for the southern counties in New Jersey for this icing potential. It will improve for the late morning and afternoon with sunshine and cold temperatures.
Christmas and Hanukkah are looking great! It'll be mostly sunny and fair with highs near 36 degrees.
The temperatures for the rest of the week will gradually get a little warmer, only into the lower-to-mid-40s by the weekend. There shouldn't be any active weather for the rest of the week aside from a few flurries possible on Thursday.
