Big Lots is closing hundreds of stores nationwide.
The big discount chain is shutting 300 stores in the U.S., including the Woodbridge location on Green Street. A closing announcement is posted on the
company’s website.
More than 1,300 locations are listed on the company’s website.
Big Lots has 27 store locations in New Jersey: Barnegat, Beverly, Brick, Cape May, Cape May Court House, Cherry Hill, Clifton, Dover, East Brunswick, Freehold, Glassboro, Hamilton, Jersey City, Lumberton, Mays Landing, Middletown, Millville, North Bergen, Ocean, Phillipsburg, Sicklerville, Somers Point, South Plainfield, Toms River, Union, West Deptford, and the targeted location to close, Woodbridge.
Big Lots, known for offering discounts on furniture and other products, saw a weak earnings report that suggests customers are cutting back on spending.
There is no word on how much longer the Woodbridge store will remain open.
