A bicyclist was struck by a car while driving through an intersection in Brentwood Tuesday.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. on Express Drive South at Washington Avenue.

A 2020 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 39-year-old Coram man collided with the bicyclist, who was described only as “an adult man," according to Suffolk police.

He was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries.

The Coram man was not injured. His car was impounded for a safety check.
