This morning, we spice up your maybe I Tuesday with the best of New Jersey. New still. New Jersey's Tony Caputo is in Union this morning. Enjoying some delicious Puerto Rican cuisine, Tony. What's on the menu this morning? Already enjoying this? It's not even 6 a.m. and we got pork and rice and it's fantastic. Tiffany Negro is joining us here. She is the owner of El Negro. Did I get it? You got it? I got it. We've been practicing for a while. She's been helping me out. This is fantastic. First of all, I just want to say and I like to say this, this is about the cleanest restaurant I've ever seen. And that as soon as you walk in the door makes it appetizing, right? That's important to you. You like that? We're really focused on cleaning when it's slow. So what am I eating here? So, what we have here is our signature dish. Um It's what we're known for it. And so let me translate that yellow rice, uh you know me, well, yellow rice cooked with green fish and peas. Uh slow roasted pork in our own marination. We cook that for about 12 hours. I can taste that. Yes. And uh Maduro sweet plantains. And I paired it with some of our most popular drinks. Champagne, India, very popular drinks in Puerto Rico. And I also gave you some to try as well. Tell us about these. We got a couple of sauces here. Yes. So our is uh the green plantains fried crispy. We put our own seasoning on it and then I paired it with our most popular uh dipping sauces with which is mayo chu, which is man. Catch Up secret seasonings and also some garlic mojo which is garlic, um, olive oil, cilantro, salt, fantastic. Taste great tip. You got a great place going on here. All right. Look, they got a couple of food trucks we're gonna talk about today too. Dad is in the back cooking it up. And by the way, an interesting schedule guys, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday closed quality of life from their very important for Tiffany as well, which is fantastic. You can't beat that. We'll have much more coming up the best in New Jersey. We get rid of those Tuesday blas.

Bringing a little life to this Gray Tuesday morning with the best of New Jersey. Yeah, New New Jersey's. Tony Caputo is in Union this morning. Enjoying some delicious Puerto Rican cuisine. All right, Tony, what are you going to try now? This is fantastic. I'll tell you what, I already destroyed the first dish, which I'll say is rice and pork. But there's a more sophisticated name than that, but it was great. And that's where we are here in Union. Got my guy, Chewy here ready to go, Chewy. Do your thing. Rudy will follow you along. And what do you got here? First of all right. And then we go to the fryer it up a little bit. Tiffany is here as well. She's the owner here, of course. And a couple minutes and then we can show you our delicious dishes that we can give, made with a kind of different meats, pork, steak, chicken and shrimp or vegetables in your meat. All sounds good to me. What do we have lined up here? So this would be the finished product of what? He just started a sandwich. It is the fried planting, but fried twice first we fry it, then we squish it to make kind of like the bread for the sandwich and then we fry it again. And then like he said, you have your choice of meat cheese onions are mayo ketchup sauce. And this uh platter is served with rice fries or salad. But our salads are so delicious and I want undressed here today. So we got Romanian lettuce, tomatoes, onions, carrots, olives and avocado and also our homemade salad, uh, salad raising. I'm sorry? Fantastic. You know what I like. We'll show dad making the rice back here stirring away and keep going. I'm gonna steal me an olive because I love the olives. This is fantastic. Tiffany, you've got quite a place here. You know, Tiffany was out in front of the station back in 2015 on the, uh, when we had the trucks come and next hour we're gonna show off her truck. She got a couple of them out. We're gonna have some fun with that. It's coming up and ma'am. Do I love olives the best of New Jersey showing off the trucks coming up next hour. Tuesday for many of us may be the most blah day of the week, right? But not when we get to spice it up with the best of New Jersey news told New Jersey's Tony Caputo joining us live this morning in Union County, checking out Puerto Rican cuisine inside and out as well. Tony de Negro. We are in the trucks. Now. Look, they have the shop here, the brick and mortar that we've been enjoying all morning long, but they get the trucks as well, fire these trucks up and get them out on the road. Look at this fantastic vehicle we're going to bring in Manuel Negron. This is, hey, you're right here. You're right on the hood, man. Ok. And this truck, what we do every day, we platter the the old platter with the rice and uh we do the sandwiches and, and we load it up and we go around selling the food to the customers. We already have customers, they want us to come in and for lunch and, and Manuel telling me a great story. At 17 years old. You came up here from Puerto Rico, right to Buffalo. He went from Puerto Rico to the snow in Buffalo. And you didn't see the end of it. It was so big and I used to go there the first year and work on a farm. Retired and you can't stop him. He's still out here. It's amazing. Well, thank you. Now, let's come over here. His daughter, Tiffany, of course, running the show here as well. They have this beautiful truck, which by the way was on our old food truck, Friday segment. Way back in 2015 at news 12 New Jersey. Tiffany. You're going to have this baby out at Ma Park this weekend. Yes. Yes, sir. This weekend will be a mammoth race track for the barbecue and craft beer fest. This is a three day festival, Saturday, Sunday and everything you have in the brick and mortar, you sell out of the truck as well. How's that? We do our fan favorites from the truck. We do the Laron burger, of course, our signature dish disco fries and also we keep the menu short. Keep the line moving. I am I telling you that on my Twitter page already this morning, somebody wrote, listen, if you see that truck, you need to get something because it's fantastic. Thank you. Well, thank you for writing that. Whoever sent that in. I know I've enjoyed it. We've had some great food here so far today. Next hour they're going to lay it all out a bunch of stuff for us. Right. We'll put it all out there and show it all off. It's the best of New Jersey. What a great place. I mean, fantastic. Right here in Union. This guy right here. That's right. I'll be there. You'll be a mammoth. Yes. He's going to put a sawbuck on one of those horses down there at Mas as well. Try and win some extra money. You know, it's gambling here in Jersey. For many Tuesday can be the most day of the week, right? But not when we try to spice it up with the best of New Jersey. No. Blow for us. News 12, New Jersey's Tony Caputo is live this morning. Enjoying delicious Puerto Rican cuisine. Tony time to chow down. It is time to chow down. We've been chowing down all day, but we're going to keep doing that because that's what we do on the best of New Jersey. Rudy's laughing. That's what we do is here in Union. It's fantastic getting a lot of great comments on social as well. Tiff Negro is the owner. You've been running this place for how long now the food truck since 2013, the restaurant since 2016 food truck will be a Mammoth park this weekend for a big event happening there, but lay it all out for us. What do you got here for us? I made so many choices. I love it. So this, we have our um it's a traditional Puerto Rican dish mash season uh fried green plantains, of course. Um We paired it with the pork. This is actually a special that I created and it did so well that I actually have to put it on the menu every day. It's called the, it is a, uh, your choice. The protein I made shrimp today because we've been eating pork all day. So I made a shrimp boarding bowl today, topped with, uh, three homemade sauces, guava. So, um, cilantro sauce and our mayo ketchup and shrimp, you say? Huh? Mhm. Yeah. And we use the big Verdy said don't eat. I want some for later. We'll see what happens as this live shot continues. What do you have here? I know. That's an, they're awesome. Yes. Um We sell a lot of which are fried foods. So the first one there that we have cut in half is a, it's a stuffed mashed potato ball stuffed with seasoned beef. We fry that we have so many different flavors, but I chose a classic beef today. And the last here is a, now that is made of yuca, which is a root vegetable. Uh We, we mash that down and we make like a masa and we stuff that with beef and fried it as well. This is a fantastic place, folks. You gotta check it out. Sorry to talk with my mouth, but we're running out of time. We have some delicious desserts as well. So make sure you check it.
