New Su is celebrating the best beaches of New Jersey. And today LA do is back at be the perfect day to be at the beach. You'll definitely want to be careful though, to protect yourself from the sun and Lauren, you'll be showing us every spot under the sun that brick township has to offer. You have your sunscreen on. Right. Lauren. I definitely do. You could sell, smell the sunscreen and guess what? No swimming unless life guards are on duty. I know we're sitting on the chair. We have Rob Brown, Deputy chief Lifeguard here. No one's on duty yet. So don't go swimming right now even though we're on the chairs. Great view up here. So, as a lifeguard, what are some tips for everyone at home? You want to definitely make sure you swim when lifeguards are present in the ocean, the ocean is always very dangerous. So you want to make sure you're in the water when we have lifeguards on duty and rip currents. What's your advice for that? Because you don't know how to, as a swimmer, it's really difficult to identify them and then you get sucked into one of them So how do you get out if you ever feel yourself in the water and you feel you're going backwards, you're probably in a rip current. The best thing to do is to swim sideways. Do not panic. And you get yourself tired. Most rip currents only go about 50 or 60 ft into the water anyway. Swim sideways a couple of feet. You'll get yourself out of the rip current. You can come right back to shore and you mentioned the water is always dangerous. Ocean County has new flags. No more green flags anymore. So what can people notice that? Brick beach? So, yeah, you won't see any green flags flying. So our new flag system is a yellow flag for a normal beach condition day. Double yellow flag would be an elevated hazard where we might take boogie boards out of the water. Red flag would be like a normal red flag used to be and then a double red flag would be lifeguard are no longer on duty. Ok. Now everyone knows how awesome Brick Beach is. How has the summer been so far now that you're fully on duty? Oh, it's been great. We've had a great start to our summer. A lot of good patrons coming to the beach. A lot of local faces that we see a lot. The weather's been beautiful for the last week. So we've had no complaints. Sure. Now that we both have our sunscreen on, we went over safety. News to all celebrating the best beaches of New Jersey. And today Learn do is at the beach. It's the perfect day to be at the beach in a great place to bring the kids if they're off for summer vacation, Lauren, what are some of the fun things this kid can do exactly who doesn't want to use a rainbow unicorn shovel and you could find one right here. We have Chris Christian. Both of you were teachers at a young, a young elementary school in township. And so what did your students do? This is amazing. Thank you. So, our fifth grade Early Act club, they actually came up with this idea of taking a toy and return a toy just for the community to use. So this is actually our second donation. We have another one each three and this is this year's new edition. Our students come up with what they wanted to look like. They decorate the signs, the wood and then we put it together and we don't need it here. That's great. I'm sure. And the town also helped into and you see community as well. Yeah. So last year was such a success. So the town got involved. So the mayor's advisory committee and both high schools got involved. So they collected SAN toys for this. Um So they all, most of these sand toys came from them. So it was a nice way to get the community involved. It is. And you ladies are probably inspiring a lot of people that are watching at home. But for your students and the parents, I mean, they must love it. It takes so much pride. Yes, I feel like for us, our biggest thing is, you know, we start with them when they're in kindergarten and we see them grow throughout the years till their fifth grade. And you know, like as an adult, when you're telling them to keep dreaming, keep dreaming sometimes as an adult, you know, it gets a little trying and it gets hard even for us. So like even for us, seeing them, their dreams come true, it inspires us and they're able to take ownership and be able to see it who doesn't come to the beach during the summer. You know, so now every time they're here, they get to see how their hard work pays off and how maybe next year they can create something else or it just snowballs into something bigger. You ladies are so inspiring. Your students must be so proud. Let's wave to them this morning. We're hanging out in Brig Beach today. Lauren Doon is from New Jersey.

News. Suave is celebrating the best beaches of New Jersey. Today, Lauren de is at Brick beach. Yeah, Lauren is showing us every spot under the sun that Brick township has to offer and it's the perfect day to be at the beach. Lauren, you went to Bayside and you have the mayor with you. We do so from the beaches to the base to the lagoons. Mayor Lisa. Great. Here you have everything at break. We really do. We have uh fabulous beaches that everybody can come to throughout the summer. We have the bay and we also have um some beaches inland. So we have our Windward Beach park, an amazing park. It has an amazing playground but not only do we have the playgrounds, but every Saturday from 830 to 130 we have one of the best farmers markets in the entire state. So we invite people to come down for that. Uh There are over 50 vendors every single week and you can get anything that you need for your party that you're having your barbecue. Uh they sell um mozzarella and fresh bread and of course our fruits and vegetables and then you can also get other items like soaps and honey and things like that. So it's one of the best farmers markets in town and uh in actually the state and we love for people to come down and see it totally. And speaking of being one of the best in the state, what is brick's claim to fame with the waterfront property? So we actually have the most waterfront property here in the state of New Jersey, between our lagoons between the ocean, the bay, our river, we have all of it. Uh Lots of people live on the water here. They love it. Lots of people can come down and vacation on the water. We invite people to come down and join us. We have beautiful beaches and if you don't like the beach, like I said, you can come to the bay side. We have a little bit of everything and if you don't want the sand too, no, none of your parks have sand. Yeah. So we have uh 13 parks throughout town as well and it's got this fabulous play surface. So you never have to worry about getting dirt or sand out of your shoes. Perfect and real quick. I just wanna touch on this because I wanna talk about how excellent the kids are here. The fifth grader are gonna be coming to debut the uh little so we have our little library. Uh We collected books, we had the high school students created the library and we're gonna have a Reuben cutting this morning later today. So great. I mean Brick Township. Amazing. Who would have thought the beaches are here? I know who would know. We're a little, we're the best kept secret, but I hope that secret gets out and now they know guys, we're hanging out in Brick today. Mayor. Thank you, Lauren dude is from New Jersey. Lauren. Yeah, it's the perfect day to be at the beach and a great place to bring kids if they're off for summer vacation. Lauren's been highlighting all these fun things to do at Brick Lauren. Exactly. There's a beach, there's parks, there's the bay, we made it over the bridge here. We're on, on the land, right on the actual land. We're closer to the parkway. We have uh members of the Brick Township Chamber of Commerce here. The President Danielle, thanks for coming down and, and talking to us and you wanna speak about some of the businesses here. Yeah. Uh Brick is a great hub for business. A lot, a lot of people think that it is uh a lot of corporate places which it is. You know, we have your target. We have your Costco I'm like, but we have such a strong small business community. It's wonderful. Um especially if you're here in the summer. Um Manalo Road Alehouse, which is right down the road is a great spot to pop in. I know places like Beacon 70 river rock. Get crazy in the summer and there's so much to do between uh golf Kings and then there's Pinot's palette and Jersey Shore paint party. There's so much for that people to do around here as well as lots of little shops. You know, tiny greenhouse is over on Princeton Avenue. She has a great selection of plants. The flower bar comes in a pinch. Any time you need them. They're absolutely wonderful there. And it's just such a wonderful place to come and visit and to shop and for everybody to um you know, come hang out your thought that Taylor Sams, I want to give them a shout out too. And you want to give a shout out to a new business that's coming. That's going to be a big deal for brick township. Yeah. Brick is growing by the day and one of the new businesses that we're really excited to have join us is Icarus brewing. They're making the move from the town over and we honestly couldn't be more excited to have them for all the events that we're gonna do and all that. So we're very excited. A lot of excitement in town. We want to give a shout out to the Jersey Girl guide. We're breaking, we're breaking the barrier here. She's, you have influencers in town too. I'm on a brick beach because it's peaceful. I've been growing up here my entire life. That's awesome. Mandy. So people here just for the ocean and that's what I'm here for. So underneath the noise it's pretty green and it's clean. It's awesome. A lot of beachgoers tell us that it's clean. We got, we got one more though, Tom. Ok. You guys come with me. We gotta go over here. I think I found our, come with me. Here we go. You're wearing sunscreen over here. Yeah, I, yes, good.
