Brooklyn's oldest library branch is finally back open after a four-year closure.
Thursday marked the official reopening of the Bedford Library.
The branch has been closed since 2021 for repairs, and the reopening was delayed due to supply chain issues and other issues found within the library.
The library now has new lights, windows and an HVAC system, which are all energy efficient.
"We are one of the last free spaces that exists in the city, so having a library in the city means you have a community center," said Adeeba Afshan Rana, branch manager of the Bedford Library.
There is a new slate of programming at the library for children, teens and adults.
The library is now open Monday through Saturday.
